Daily ledger
Each UTC day, new snapshot SHA-256 hashes and dataset version hashes are
put in a Merkle tree. The root is chained to the previous day and written
as 32 raw bytes. OpenTimestamps stamps that file when ots is
installed. Calendars anchor the stamp in Bitcoin later. If ots
or the calendars are down, the row is still appended and the proof stays
pending or unavailable.
Verify a root file with ots verify root.bin.ots beside the .root download. Inclusion proofs for one record are a paid download (GET /api/v1/ledger/proof).
